- AMIPAC is progammed especialy for AMIGA, to ease radio-
- amateurs use of packet radio. It is in no way a telefon modem
- program, but is dedicated to be used with TNC's. Until now it
- has been tested on Kantronics KPC-2, AEA PK-88/232, KAM and TNC2.
- Setup files for these are selectable from the scriptfile
- A.x/AmiPac.parms supplied with this disk. Owners of other makes
- of TNC's are welcome to experiment and report results.

- AMIPAC supports PAL as well as NTSC. You also may choose your
- own language for the calendar. F-keys and pull-down menues may
- be user defined.

- Connecting your TNC.
- ====================
-
- To make AMIPAC function properly, you must use hardware
- handshake. Make sure, that the cabel between your AMIGA and the
- TNC is connected like this:

- It is important that the DCD line (pin 8) follows the CONNECT-
- state of the TNC. Some TNC's, e.g. PK88, has a jumper that
- default will hold DCD at +12v whenever the TNC is ON. This MUST
- be changed to make DCD = -12v when in monitor mode.

- Installing Country.
- ===================
-
- AMIPAC allows you to use your own national keyboard.
- Click the Text&Tricks-icon an you'll see a small bar named
- SHORTCUT at top of the screen. Select this by clicking it with
- the left mouse buttom. Then press the right buttom to display
- the two pull down menues: AmiPac docs and Country.
- Now choose which doc you wish to read, or click the item stating
- YOUR country, and the keymap, font and clock will be copied to
- the system.
- This will obviously write to the disk, so do this only to your
- work-copy. Should your country not be in the selection, edit
- A.x/AmiPac.clock and Country in the root to set the keymap and
- calendar as YOU want it!
- AMIPAC now contains several files which are read when
- the program is started. These may all be edited by the user to
- fit his/her needs. This may be done by opening the DMe-icon. The
- DME editor has three menues for the AMIPAC system files.

- Edit_A.x
- ========

- CLOCK

- If the Country? menu, opned by the Docs icon
- and the Shortcut bar does not have YOUR
- country, or a countr that uses your language,
- you may select CLOCK to change the names of
- the days and the months to your own language.

- ComManDs
-
- Commands you may issue that you might need
- a parameter to be addad. Are not send to the
- TNC before RETURN is pressed.

- ComMa+CR
- (DMe: ComManDs+CR)
-
- The commands from this list are, when click-
- in the menue, send directly to the TNC ter-
- minated with a CR.

- CONnections
-
- A list of stations that you may call just by
- clicking a gadget. Edit the list to contain
- the calls of the station you use to connect!

- DefaultStrings
-
- This file contains the codestring for Funny-
- mode, alertstring and target call.The use of
- these strings is explained along with the
- Misc- menu.
- Defaultstrings also defines the the device
- on which you wish to capture and the default
- names under which the different kinds files
- are to be captured. (AutoConn, ASCII, UU or
- YAPP)

- Exit

- Strings which are send to the TNC on closing
- AmiPac_full/AmiPac_split by pressing R-Amiga
- + 'Q' twice. In this way you may set CTEXT,
- MONITOR mode etc. the way you want them when
- your Amiga is OFF. E.g. a CTEXT that tells
- connecting stations to call back later.

- SeqConnCommand
-
- This file contains a series of commands that
- will be sent to the TNC on autoconnect.
- Default PARMS defines 0 lines to be read
- from SeqConnCommand. If this number is al-
- tered, either in PARMS or by means of Auto-
- Conn in the Misc-menu, an AutoConnect will
- be performed. PARMS also defines the time
- between each command.

- SendPrivate@..
-
- A list of the amateurs, that you frquently
- send telexes to. Listed with @ BBS. Now
- you'll never discover, that you've forgotten
- someones BBS, just as you are about to send
- him/her a message.

- Start
-
- Strings which are send to the TNC on opening
- AmiPac_Full/AmiPac_Split.In this way you may
- set CTEXT, MONITOR mode etc. the way you
- want them when your Amiga is ON.

- Printer(ANSI)
-
- Every time the printer is opened from the
- OPTIONS-menu, the command(s) of this file is
- send to the printer. It contains a header
- for the dump being made + a number of ANSI-
- codes to set the printing mode. To change
- these, see your AMIGA manual Appendix D.

- Keymap(REBOOT)

- Should you wish AMIPAC to use a keymap, dif-
- ferent to the default of the selectet coun-
- try, you may change it here. Provided this
- keymap is present in devs/keymaps. If not,
- you must copy it from the WorkBench or the
- Extras disk. This change only take effect
- after reboot.

- AmiPac_UK
-
- In this file you may want to change the
- ASSIGN'ing of the AmiPac_DATA: device.
- The Auto-Answer function of the Remote-menu
- uses AmiPac_DATA: for storing messages. This
- means that you need a disk named AmiPac_DATA
- to use Auto-Answer.
- Should you want Auto-Answer messages stored,
- e.g. on DF1:, you should edit this line the
- AmiPac_UK batch-file:

- Assign AmiPac_DATA: DF1:

- Parms

- Used to start up AMIPAC. The only line you
- should edit, is the one starting with:

- followed by a number of parameters.
- These are listed below the command
- in order of appearence. Some of the parame-
- ters state the number of active lines, read
- from the system files listed below. Should
- you add / delete any lines in these files,
- you should change the corresponding parame-

- Of the files mentioned above, StartUp-Sequence naturally
- is found in the S directory. ALL the other files are to be found
- in the A.x directory, where you'll find the names listed above,
- preceeded with the word "AmiPac.". E.g the ConfigTNC-file is
- really named A.x/AmiPac.ConfigTNC, but I've used this abbrevia-
- tion throughout this manual for clarity.

- F-keys:
- =======

- F1 - F30

- You may define any function key, alone or
- qualified by either the left or the right
- Shift key, to send each their online mes-
- sage. I.e. 30 different messages in all.
- You may write a text of any lenght in each
- of these. Greetings to connected stations,
- log off messages,"QRX - telephone!" or even
- "XYL-interrupt, call you later!"

- Filerequesters:
- ===============
-
- AmiPac uses ReqLib filerequester. These nice filereques-
- ters are very easy to use.
- Choosing any file transfer from the FILE pull down menu
- will open a filerequeser. RAM:AmiPac.capt is default (provided
- you haven't changed it in A.x/AmiPac.defaultstrings) but you may
- choose any other drive or drawer by the gadges at the bottom of
- the requester. The left side of the requester shows the directo-
- ries and files in the current directory, and the right side
- shows all devices available in the system. Clicking a device
- will display its contens in the left side of the requester.
- Should you click, say, DF0:, you'll see the rootdirectory of
- this disk. This is all quite ordinary, but there are more advan-
- ced features!
- To improve the overview, try clicking the Display .info
- files-gadget in the top-right corner! Read the left window. All
- .info files are now hidden! Look at the gadget you just used. It
- has now changed to Hide .info files! Click it again, and the
- .info files are back.
- Should you like to hide all files starting with "Ami",
- click the Hide-gadget, write Ami* into it, and press RETURN.
- The star (*) indicates a "wildcard", i.e. any string after the
- Ami is accepted. Putting the star in the front of a string,
- e.g. *s, will hide all files ENDING with s.
- The show-gadget works by only showing the files that
- satisfies the string (with wildcards) written in it. Remember to
- hit RETURN to make the entered string take effect.
- When opening a file for ASCII capture, RAM:AmiPac.capt
- will be default. Should you want to capture to disk, write the
- name of the device in the Drawer-gadget, or click it in the
- right window. The filename may be changed in the File-gadget.
- If you choose to capture to a file, already recorded on the
- disk, the new captured data will be added to the existing file.

- No old data will be lost! To capture the new file on its own,
- choose another filename. When ready to capture, click the OK!
- gadget. In case you regret, you may close the requester by the
- Forget it-gadget. The Get dir-gadget is used to refresh the left
- window. This is NOT done automatically if e.g. you delete a file
- from the DELETE-Kill option of the Options- menu.

- Using pull-down menues.
- =======================
-
- There are 10 pull-down menues. Most of the functions you
- can choose from, can be toggled. I.e. clicking an item in a pull-
- down menu will open it. Clicking the same item again, will close
- it. Items not available are ghosted.

- File
- ====
-
- Determines direction and mode of filetransfer. 3 different HAM
- transfer protecols are supported:
-
- - ASCII for plain text, 7bt- and 7pl files.
-
- - UUCODE for binary files. Clusters of 3 binary bytes combined
- to 4 ASCII bytes. Makes code approximately 35% longer, but
- allowes the transmission to go through ANY kind of TNC, BBS,
- NODE, KANODE or whatever. 8 - bit supporting or not. Your code
- gets through unharmed! Files are converted immediately when
- transmitted or received! Directly executable!

- - YAPP ⌐ This protocol is no longer MS-DOS-only capability!
- Compatible with WA7MBL and G1NNA BBS. As for UUCODE the conver-
- tion/deconvertion is done on the fly!
-
-
- In the File-menu the following items are available:
-
-
- Capt. ASCII Enables you to capture an ASCII file
- Close! ASCII Open it to store messages, you want
- to keep. Click Capt. ASCII. This
- will open a filerequester. Default
- save path will be RAM:amipac.capt.
- If that iss o.k., click OK, and cap-
- ture is active. Capture may also be
- toggled by L-AMIGA + 'C'.

- Send ASCII Send ASCII file. Used to transmit
- STOP! SEND prewritten messages and files to the
- connected station. Choose file to
- send from requester. Is also activa-
- ted by R-AMIGA and 'S'.

- Capt. BIN UU Receive UUENCODE'd files. MUST be
- STOP! Cpt UU used in TRANSPARANT. (See your TNC
- manual). Default save path will be
- RAM:AmiPac.prg. May also be toggled
- by R-AMIGA + 'R'.

- Send BIN UU Send UUENCODE'd files. Binary file
- STOP! Snd UU chosen from requester, is converted
- to UUENCODE form and transmitted as
- such. Use only TRANSPARANT for this
- mode. There are two UU-modes to
- choose from:
-
- Standard WIDTH
- (All lines start with a 'M')
-
- Large UU WIDTH
- (All lines start with an 'Y)
-

- Capt. YAPP ⌐ Receive YAPP coded file. Compatible
- STOP! YAPP R with WA7MBL BBS'es. Now Amiga also
- exchange files through these!
- Operated also with R-AMIGA and 'Y'.
- Default save path is RAM:Amipac.com.

- Send YAPP ⌐ Sends file in YAPP code. Choose file
- STOP! YAPP S from requester, and you're YAPP'ing
- your file along to any WA7MBL BBS or
- to a YAPP supporting fellow amateur.
- R-AMIGA and 'J' also does the trick.

- CREATE a 7BT This opens a requester which lets
- you choose a file to be converted to
- 7bit format, used for forwarding bi-
- nary files. The resulting 7bt-file
- is stored in RAM: (default set in
- Default-strings) and may be sent
- by Send ASCII in the File-menu.
- Hotkey: R-Amiga and 'U'.

- DECODE a 7bt Opens requester to decode a 7bt-
- file received from BBS. Executable
- binary file is default stored in
- RAM: (See Default-strings). Invoked
- by R-Amiga and 'V'.

- Capt. YAPPr⌐ Should a YAPP-download crash due to
- STOP! YAPPrR a bad link, when you are connected
- to another Amiga, which has the re-
- mote function enabled, it may be re-
- sumed by Capt. YAPPr⌐. Before using
- this feature you must ask the remote
- Amiga to resume by typing the name
- of the file you want, preceeded by a
- '\'. I.e. If you want a file called
- 'SSB',you should type \SSB to resume
- the download. When done, activate
- Capt. YAPPr⌐ on your own Amiga. Hot-
- key: R-Amiga and 'N'.

- Send YAPPr⌐ Should YOU however, be the one with
- STOP! YAPPrS the remote function enabled, and a
- connected station crashes on a down-
- load from you, you may save him the
- trouble asking for download resume.
- Activate Send YAPPr⌐ and you'll get
- a requester that lets you choose the
- file you wish to resume sending.
- The connected station then
- only needs to activate his own Capt.
- YAPPr⌐.
- This function, like Capt.
- YAPPr⌐ ONLY works between two Ami-
- gas both running AmiPac v. > 4.31!
- Hotkey: R-Amiga and 'M'.

- FBB YAPP RES Experiencing a link fail near the
- STOP! FBB RE end of a download of a big file,
- usually is very annoying, but should
- you be so lucky to be in YAPP cap-
- ture from a BBS that runs F6FBB
- software, it is not that big a cata-
- strophy. Just reconnect the BBS and
- "YD" the same file once more, but
- instead of opening capture with
- Capt. YAPP ⌐ use FBB bbs Y RESUME.
- AmiPac will now exchange pointers
- with the BBS, and the remaining part
- of the file will be appended to the
- part that you have already got.
- Hotkey: R-Amiga and 'Z'.

- If you want to transfer files with YAPP between 2 Amigas us-
- ing AmiPac v. > 4.25, one of you, and ONLY ONE of you must
- enable Remote. Only the station with Remote ON, can initiate
- the transmission.
- When transferring with YAPP to/from a WA7MBL, G1NNA or other
- YAPP supporting BBS's, you should disable AmiPac's Remote
- function.

- Be aware that the TNC is ALWAYS in TRANSPARANT
- during YAPP transfer. Should the TNC slip into
- CONVERSE , press 'Esc' followed by a 't' and a
- RETURN, to get back to TRANSPARANT.

- Transfer Status Window
- ======================

- If NOVICE-mode is set in Parms (Default) the top half of the
- screen will display a Transfer Status Window every time a
- atransfer is initiated. It may look something like this:

- The example above is from a YAPP transfer. In case of an ASCII
- capture the length of the data to be received is NOT known. In
- this case, the data fields that should have been calculated on
- basis of this information, are marked: "Not Available"

- The Transfer Meter
- ==================
-
- Note the Transfer Meter! The FAT bar at the center of the screen
- can be observed METERS away from the Amiga. You can now sit in
- the soft chair in the corner of the room and read while a large
- file transfer is taking place. A quick glance now and then is
- enough to see how far things have got.
-
- Should you choose Expert Mode in Parms the Transfer Status
- window will not pop up. The fat Transfer Meter bar however still
- apears, but ONLY if the transfer size data are available.
-
- If the Clock-bar is open, it will show the size of the file to
- be send/received, and how much is yet to go.

- -Other IMPORTANT points about YAPP TRANSFER:
-
- MS-DOS YAPP CANCEL (or make invisible) does not capture
- the file entirely. With AMIPAC YAPP this doesn't happen.
- This means, that we got something. Pay attention to pro-
- tocol messages. 100 % means everything OK. Any other message ad-
- vice of some occured problem.
- Consider to transfer files compacted using "archives".
- Use ARC, ZOO, LHARC, PAK, PAK-IT, WARP, LHWARP, PKAZIP or best
- LZ.

- Using these we have always some advantages:
-
- 1. Sending more than one file in one strike.
-
- 2. Sending icons, docs, scriptfiles and executables, makes
- our archives better in many aspects: Size- and thereby
- transmissiontime, is reduced.
-
- Even sending one file it is better to archive it with a
- DUMMY-FILE at the end. The DUMMY-FILE name is essential. It
- should be "ZZ.file". As files are stored in alphabethical order
- in the archive, this filename will always be the last. We can
- use always the same!!!
-
- Why this ?
-
- If a link fails near the end of a transfer, and the tail
- of file is missing; we still, due the power of some archive pro-
- grams, have the possibility in some cases to get back the file.
- In fact only the "dummy" (the last) won't be intact but the rest
- will be perfect. The size of the dummyfile is not critical, but
- should be at least 256 characters.

- Log Files
- ==========
-
- AmiPac keeps two different log files: AmiPac.log and
- AmiPac.stats .
-
- AmiPac.log is opened on the device defined in Default-strings
- and is updated with callsign, time and date every time a connect
- is made. You may then use StatLogForma in the Options- menu to
- catalog AmiPac.log into the genuine logfile SLF.log. Read also
- SLF.doc.
-
- AmiPac.stats keeps track of all file transfers made. It contains
- information of filename, size, characters/second and the equiva-
- lent baudrate. AmiPac.stats is aranged in such a way, that you
- may use the CLI command:
-
- SORT AmiPac.stats TO size.stat COLSTART 50
-
- to sort the captured files by size, or:
-
- SORT AmiPac.stats TO size.stat COLSTART 62
-
- to sort the captured files by baudrate.

- Splitting and combining
- =======================
-
- Provided you have chosen the correct TNC type parameter
- in Parms, AmiPac will when started, send the TNC commands neces-
- sary for correct file transfer.When a CONNECT is detected AmiPac
- will force the TNC in TRANSPARANT independant of CONMODE.This is
- essential for especially the binary file transfer. But don't
- worry - AmiPac has a built-in keyboard buffer that emulates
- CONVERSE when typing.
- Block from files split by SPLIT ASCII in the Options-menu
- are provided with a special header that states block number and
- the total number of blocks. When you capture such a series of
- blocks, append them to the SAME ASCII-capture file.Regardless of
- the order in which the blocks arrive! Don't bother with removing
- the BBS's forwarding headers. When ALL blocks are captured, Com-
- bine ASC: will do the header erasing, sorting and reassembling;
- leaving the resulting file in RAM: EXACTLY as it originally ap-
- peared. Executable files treated with SPLIT BINARY also form
- blocks in RAM: but these are ONLY numbered by the NAME! The
- blocks themselves are absolutely "naked", so be sure to specify
- the number in the name of the blocks when you YAPP them. When
- you receive file blocks with YAPP, you can NOT append them.
- They MUST be captured under different names, stating the block
- number. Assume that you receive a file named "Demo" which is
- in 4 blocks. On the BBS they appear as: DEMO1, DEMO2, DEMO3 and
- DEMO4. When opening the Capt. YAPP write the DEMOx name in
- the string gadget at the bottom of the requester. This should

- Click Resume and up comes a requester that lets
- you choose a string, you want the computer to look
- for in the data coming from the TNC. The typical
- purpose for this may be, that you want to know, when
- your local BBS is free. Usually a BBS sends out a
- specific string when a user logs off, and if you
- know this string, you can ask AMIPAC to look for it,
- thus taking the tedious screen-guarding off your
- "hands". My BBS goes:

- when a user logs off, so I use this for alertstring.
- The default string is taken from DefaultStrings,
- which may be edited from the Edit_Ax-menu of
- DMe. You are free to enter another string on opening
- AlertStr, as long as it is 8 - 16 characters long.
- When the string is entered, you may still
- regret by clicking Cancel, otherwise click Ok,
- and your choise is confirmed. Now click Resume. A
- requester, asking for Target call, now appears. If
- you click Cancel here, the first string you enter-
- ed will serve as an alarm only, making the Amiga
- beep at you, when the string is encountered. Should
- you on the other hand enter a call in this requester
- and click Ok!, AMIPAC will automatically connect to
- this call as soon as the string, that you entered as
- alertstring, is heard. But this isn't all! If the
- parameter for lines to read from SeqConnCommand in
- Parms is NOT set to zero, AmiPac will, immedeately
- after start up, look for the alertstring. When it

- occurs, a series of commands is issued from the Seq-
- ConnCommand-file, also editable from DMe's Edit_A.x
- -menu. In this way, you can ask the BBS to list the
- files, that you are interested in. You don't even
- have to be at the keyboard!
- When an autoconnect has taken place, the
- AUTOCONN ON message in the menubar is removed.
- This is to indicate, that you'll have to enter the
- alertstring and targetcall again, should you need
- another autoconnect. This is to avoid a neverending
- repeating of autoconnects.
- Should you want an autoconnect, WITHOUT
- editing Parms, set Autoconn in the Misc-menu

- PasswBBS Should you have enabeled AMIPAC's

- Using AmiPac Remote
- ===================

- This is the latest option of AmiPac. Before using this
- mode, read Parms and DefultStrings in A.x. You will probably
- have to edit both files before you start.
- In Parms you should define your TNC, to get the correct
- initialisation when booting up. Choose from Kantronic, TNC2 or
- AEA TNC's. You may also decide if remote users are to be able to
- remote control your Amiga by issuing the password.
- In DefaultStrings you are able to define the above men-
- tioned password. Default is is 'AmiPacBBS->'. Remember that this
- password is CASESENSITIVE. So don't confuse upper- or lower case
- letters. The Remote device may also be changed in DefaultStrings.
- You can enable Remote to be opened by password, either by the
- setup of Parms or by PasswBBS in the Misc menu. It is then up
- to you to inform your friends what the password is. Personally
- or by CTEXT. A connected user who issues the password will get

- Be aware that the TNC is ALWAYS in TRANSPARANT during
- YAPP transfer. Should the TNC slip into CONVERSE, press '6' of
- the numeric pad, followed by a 't' and a RETURN, to get back to
- TRANSPARANT.

- Special keys
- ============

- Function keys The function keys of the AMIGA are linked to the
- files AmiPac.F1......AmiPac.F10. These files are
- assigned to device Amipac: in the A.x directory.
- Read ASSIGN'ing AMIPAC about how to assign. Edit these files
- to hold your own personal on-line text. When using AMIPAC, a
- strike of a function key, will send whatever you wrote in the
- corresponding file, to the TNC. This could be your station ID,
- a log-off message or other messages relevant to your callers.
- It's up to you.

- L-AMIGA 'M' These 2 hot keys will probably be the ones you
- L-AMIGA 'N' will use the most! They are indispensible if you
- are running a background task, (an editor for
- example), L-AMIGA 'N' sends the AMIPAC window in the background.
- L-AMIGA 'M' takes it to the foreground again.

- TAB Toggles between MD2 and old F6FBB pasword secu-
- rity system.
-
- DEL This key will stop the scroll. This is very use-
- full when you have issued a "l" command to a BBS.
- It will give you a chance to write down the numbers og the mes-
- sages you would like to capture. When the scroll is stopped, the
- clock-bar (if open) will display: - - - PAUSED SCROLL - - -,
- as a reminder. No incoming data is lost, but will be displayed
- as soon as the DEL-key is hit again!

- Numeric Pad

- The numeric pad contains some preprogrammed commands:

- '-' = M N Turn off MONITOR mode.

- '+' = M Y Turn on MONITOR mode.

- '1','2','3' Opens password string-gadgets for FBB remote-
- sysops. See FBB remote-sysop below.

- '4' Sends an "always different" numeric string,
- derived from the current time and date. Used for
- unique marking for messages.

- Cursor Keys
- ===========

- UP and DOWN Allowes you to scroll between the 90 last
- issued commands typed from keyboard. Just like
- the WorkBench or SHELL.

- FUNNY MODE
- ==========

- R-ALT (only available in RTTY-mode), lets you enter a
- "keyword" for cryptograms. Up to 10 characters
- long. The default keyword is taken from the first line of the
- "DefaultStrings" scriptfile. Change it here if you like! (Only
- CHR$ 32 - 255 are valid).Anything you transmit will be scrambled
- by this keyword. Only people who knows this keyword, can read
- your messages. You cannot end a file by typing CTRL-Z in this
- mode. This character will be scrambled, just like any other.
- You'll have to return to NORMAL mode, by pressing R-ALT again,
- before the CTRL-Z can be send. Don't type while awaiting reply!
- This mode is cursor-position-sensitive, and only decodes recie-
- ved data correctly when the cursor is in the left-most column.
- This feature only works in TRANSPARANT MODE and only with plain
- ASCII text (CHR$ 32 - 126), or you might get decoding errors.

- FBB remote-sysop.

- If you want to be remote-sysop of a BBS running FBB software,
- you must first ask the sysop for a password. This may be up to
- 255 characters long. You may store up to 3 different passwords
- in the A.x/ files:

- These filese may NOT contain ANY Line Feed
- characters.They may not even be terminated
- by one. If they do,the MD2 security system
- will NOT function correctly.

- The latest security system in F6FBB BBS is called MD2. If you
- log in as Sysop (SYStem OPerator) you will be prompted with a 10
- digit number, e.g:

- Should you have issued the SYS command, to an F6FBB BBS of an

- Use the Send FBB PASSW-> item from the Options menu or press

- SYS : Enables remote Sysop mode. A callsign validated as SYSOP is
- permitted to access any message in any circumstance, but he cannot delete
- or modify data which do not belong to him. The SYS command will grant him
- these privileges, together with the ability to enter the root of the DOS
- directory tree in FBBDOS. The SYS command will return a string of 5
- numbers corresponding to the position of a letter in a sentence located in
- the PASSWD.SYS file. If you send back the 5 letters (without any space)

- The first line in this file is the generic password. That is, this
- password will be used for all sysops that do NOT have a special password

- LA6CU. The two first numbers correspond to the same "security-numbers" in
- INIT.SRV (check this). So in this case of LA6CU, I will have the security-
- number 69 before a successful SYS-command, and 1023 after. In the next
- line the numbers for LA6IM is 123 and 1023.

- DELAYED

- If your BBS is impossible to acces, either becauce it is always
- busy, or because of too much trafic on the frequency,you may try
- to connect late et night. You sleep at night? No problem! Click
- the DELAYED-icon instead of clicking one of the AmiPac-icons!
- Pick a gadget and go to bed,leaving Amiga to do the rest! At the
- selected time, AmiPac is started by amipac.parmsdelayed in the
- A.x-drawer. This file default reads 2 lines from SeqConnCommand
- Savepath and capture file is RAM:AmiPac.autoCapt.
- Edit if desired in DefaultStrings.

- Closing down.
- =============
-
- There are a few things you should be aware of, when you close
- down after using AMIPAC. Make sure, that CAPTURE is closed, be-
- fore you turn off the AMIGA. Otherwise you can't be sure that
- what you've just captured will be on the disk. Also if you in-
- tend to leave the TNC and the radio on for MAILDROP (PK-88), you
- should either:
-
- Close AMIPAC by QUIT in the Misc menu;
-
- Type R-Amiga + 'Q' ;
-
- Use the closegadget in the top left corner,
- which is active when the menubar is
- closed, even if it's not visible;
-
- Hit the '-' on the numeric pad;
-
- before turning off the computer. The reason for this is, that
- either of these operations will send the command "M N" to the
- TNC. If you don't do this, the TNC will fill it's buffer with
- all passing by traffic. When the AMIGA is turned on again, the
- TNC will empty the buffer into the AMIGA, and you'll have to
- wait for all this to scroll by, before you'll be able to use
- AMIPAC.
